The Travel to Kyoto Arc is the sixteenth arc in The Elusive Samurai series.
After 8 days of rest in Kamakura, Akiie's army and the elusive warriors head towards Kyoto, however an army led by Sadamune prepares to stop them.

- Yasuie abandons Hojo's army at Tokiyuki's request since he was too weak to accompany him.
- Akiie's past is revealed and how he becomes the general of an army.
- Sadamune heads to Aonogahara to stop Akiie and his army along with other warriors.
- Nagao and Kojiro face each other again, with Kojiro emerging as the winner of the battle.
- With Nagao's defeat, it is revealed that in the future Kojiro will be introduced into the Taiheiki Chronicle which tells tales about superhumans in battle.
- It's revealed that Hachiro serves the Ashikaga clan currently.
- It's revealed that Shizuku is a mass of divine power called Mishaguji.
- Akiie and Nanbu are seriously injured by Takauji.
- Akiie and Nanbu die in battle.
- Tokiyuki uses a technique from Masashige's book causing Takauji's army to retreat.
- Tokiyuki receives a command from the Emperor which allows him to have complete freedom on how to fight with his army without receiving orders from any other military leader with the condition that he can only use soldiers who are still loyal to the Hojo.
