Before the Fall of the Kamakura Shogunate[]
In 1333, Takauji Ashikaga and his warriors return to Kamakura after a battle and are greeted by the current regent Takatoki Hojo and the people of Kamakura.
Takauji will travel to Kyoto to prevent the old emperor Go-Daigo from regaining power, at that moment Takauji meets Tokiyuki Hojo, the future leader of the Hojo clan, Tokiyuki receives him with praise, to which his self-proclaimed fiancée Kiyoko tells him that he should not flatter his future subordinate to which Saburo and Jiro arrive to take Tokiyuki to his archery classes to which he escapes.
Tokiyuki hides in the top of a tree hearing that people believe he is lazy and cowardly, at that moment he meets Shizuku and Yorishige who tells him that he can read the future thanks to his divine powers, Tokiyuki at first does not believe him so who tells him that he is a fraud Yorishige listening to this tells him that in two years he will be considered a hero, Tokiyuki escapes because he believes that Yorishige is not trustworthy but thinks about his words, Tokiyuki looks for his brother and tells him everything happened to which he tells him that Yorishige is right and he also thinks he could be a hero.
Escape to Shinano[]
A month later, Kunitoki was beheaded and his father committed seppuku, several of the warriors loyal to the Hojo clan died under the attack of Takauji who went down to Kyoto to ally with the former emperor and help him regain power. Takauji would send his son to Kanto to gather allies from all over the region, enlarging the rebellion against the shogunate, being helped by Nitta and his army.
24 days since Takauji's rebellion were enough to make everything collapse being Tokiyuki the only survivor, Yorishige who was waiting for Tokiyuki tells him that his father gave him the order to save Tokiyuki so he would welcome him in the Suwa territory in Shinano. Tokiyuki refuses saying that he should die along with his family and vassals to which Yorishige tells him that if he dies no one can restore Japan to which Tokiyuki agrees to go with him.
After a conversation where Tokiyuki tells him that he could not take back Kamakura and that it is better that he dies, Yorishige throws him towards some warriors showing Tokiyuki that even if he says that he wants to die he really wants to live. After calling some allies, Yorishige and Shizuku set off for Shinano.
First Battle[]
Days after his escape, Tokiyuki and the others hide in a house far from Kamakura, Yorishige explains that due to the current situation all exits to Shinano are guarded so they will have to wait for the situation to calm down, Yorishige and his allies spend their time playing board games invented by Yorishige thanks to his ability to see the future.
Tokiyuki listens to a conversation between two men who mention Kunitoki who was killed thanks to his uncle Godaiin. When Tokiyuki discovers that his uncle had also betrayed them, he vomits, Yorishige tells him that taking revenge for his brother's death will be the first step for him to become a hero, so they seek Godaiin thanks to Yorishige ability to see the future. Godaiin who is somewhere in Kamakura wonders if giving them Kunitoki's location was not enough to give him a position so he starts looking for Tokiyuki to kill him and give his head to Nitta's army.
Godaiin finds Tokiyuki on a mountain, so he tries to convince him to go with him, to which Tokiyuki asks why he killed his brother, demonstrating that it was an ambush to kill Godaiin, so he shows his abilities. Godaiin starts attacking him so Tokiyuki dodges all of his attacks while Kojiro and Ayako protect Tokiyuki, Yorishige calls out to them and tells him not to attack and to watch the battle.
Observing the battle they realize that Tokiyuki has the advantage of dodging their attacks while having fun doing it, so Yorishige asks Kojiro, Ayako and Shizuku if they would like to serve him to which they agree and return to the battle with the mission to hold Goddain back so that Tokiyuki can deal him the final blow.
Tokiyuki, observing Godaiin's neck, grabs his sword and gathers strength to break his aunt's neck, killing Godaiin. Tokiyuki and his allies travel to Shinano ready to carry out a plan.
