Tokiyuki Hojo (
Appearance[]
Before the time skip, Tokiyuki Hojo is a short boy with a light complexion. He has long, ink-black hair that was tied in a ponytail with a gold accessory band and parted bangs that tucked into his ponytail. Until Kamakura fell, he was seen wearing a green, broad Kami vest with a red ribbon and long sleeves decorated with red ribbons weaved on the rim, a purple Kimono complementing his eyes, and a white undershirt underneath, completed with blue, broad Shimo pants that came to an abrupt slimming at the knees. He sported sandals with white socks and carried a sword fixed on his waist with a red belt.
After Kamakura fell, he is disguised as a Suwa priest under the instructions of Yorishige Suwa, which consists of a broad white Kami vest with long sleeves, again with red ribbons weaved on the rim, a white undershirt and a purple Kimono that was several tones darker than the previous one. He wears a thicker belt that forms a huge ribbon on the front. In both outfits, the Hojo symbol can be seen on his clothes. Before Kamakura fell, Tokiyuki wore clothes with the official Hojo symbol imprinted over them: three triangles forming a big triangle with the middle hollowed out. However, after Kamakura fell and the remaining Hojo or those loyal to the Hojo were forced into hiding, he wears broad red pants with three triangles, one stacked on top of two in the shape of a pyramid. Tokiyuki later explains that it is the Hojo symbol with the triangles slightly rearranged and inverted.
After the time skip, Tokiyuki Hojo sports short, fresh hair tied in a high ponytail that comes to a halt at his neck, and fringe that covers his brows near the center, parted on both sides and tucked behind his ears. His bangs are kept to his shoulders with a slight curl on the tips. He is seen wearing a white ribbon on his hair similar to Yorishige Suwa's hat, as white is considered the color of mourning in East Asia. He is still wearing his Suwa shrine attire, but the pattern on his pants changes from three triangles to three five-pointed stars. Perhaps it is a sign that he was not fixated on bringing the Hojo Clan back to its former glory, but bringing the Hojo Clan to even greater heights by his standards.
Personality[]
Before Kamakura fell, he was a carefree individual who simply enjoyed the excitement of fleeing and leisure, leading him to skip classes and triggering chases between him and Hojo servants. However, after Kamakura fell, he experienced betrayal after betrayal, first from the General he respected, Takauji, and then his uncle, which caused him agony and doubt. Yorishige Suwa, the priest of Suwa, a loyal follower in debt of the Hojo Clan, and later Tokiyuki's adoptive father, sheltered him and gave him retainers and friends.
From then on, Tokiyuki has to learn to become a leader who wins by fleeing and living and recruiting retainers that may be of use.
