A Perverted Kid and Disturbances of Holy Power (へんたいしんりきそうどう Hentai Chigo to Shinriki Sōdō?) is the tenth episode of The Elusive Samurai anime series.

Yorishige tells Tokiyuki there are times when he cannot see the future. Since many rely on his reputation and power as a god, he must keep this shortcoming hidden. He asks Tokiyuki for help, and together, they try every idea, one by one, in hopes of restoring Yorishige's holy power.[1]

Synopsis[]

Yorishige confides in Tokiyuki that there will be times when the future will be temporarily uncertain.

Because some people rely on the power of the gods, Yorishige cannot reveal the situation to everyone, so with Tokiyuki's help, he tries each method to restore his divine power.

Tokiyuki runs around Suwa Shrine, gathering just what Yorishige wants. However, no matter what he tries, there is no sign of the divine power recovering, and an unexpected effect is felt on Tokiyuki,

This is the last era in which gods and humans will coexist. Tokiyuki comes into contact with a fleeting mystery...[2]

Anime and Manga Differences[]

  • In the anime, Tokiyuki and the survivors pray for those who fell in battle in the village, and then Tokiyuki is called by Yorishige to talk to him; in the manga, Tokiyuki and the others pray in a closed room where Yorishige signals to him to get his attention.
  • In the anime, scenes of Fubuki, Ayako, Kojiro, and Shizuku helping to rebuild the village are added.
  • In the anime when Yorishige explains to Tokiyuki that he can't see the future he is lying down trying to write the word mirai which means future in Japanese, in the manga, he is sitting up explaining the situation to Tokiyuki.
  • The anime omits the part where Yorishige tells Tokiyuki not to expect him to be able to throw fireballs or similar things.
  • When Tokiyuki asks Ayako and Kojiro about where he can get eel, the manga's angle differs from the anime.
  • When Tokiyuki answers Ayako and Kojiro about why he wants eel, he answers that he is simply hungry, however the scenario in which he says this differs in the anime and the manga, while in the manga he says it before they give him the eel, in the anime he says it after they give him the eel.
  • In the anime, Yorishige's voice telling Tokiyuki to keep the secret is depicted as a ghost while in the manga it is a memory.
  • In the manga, when Tokiyuki asks Yorishige why eating eel will give him his powers back, Yorishige answers right away with a hungry face, however in the anime, Yorishige has moments of worry for not having an appropriate answer and then tells him that it worked once.
  • In the manga, when Yorishige explains that eel is Suwa's specialty he is eating while in the anime he explains that and the different ways to eat eel before eating.
  • In the manga, when Tokiyuki goes to the maidens to ask them for alpine leek, it is seen how Tokiyuki addresses them while in the anime it is shown directly to Tokiyuki speaking to them, also in the manga the maids are working in the field while in the anime they are in a structure.
  • While Tokiyuki is talking to the maids, a scene of Fubuki smelling the eel and searching for its location is added.
  • The anime expands on the scene of Tokiyuki asking for a rope while omitting the scene showing that Yorishige wanted the rope to make a sacred land where he could concentrate.
  • The anime adds a scene of Tokiyuki searching for a maid outfit in the warehouse.
  • The anime omits the scene where Fubuki, Kojiro and Ayako watch Tokiyuki leave in the maid outfits.
  • The anime adds a scene of Tokiyuki hiding in straw while being watched by Genba.
  • In the anime, when Kojiro, Ayako, Genba, Fubuki and Moritaka talk about Tokiyuki's fetishes they do so in an open field while in the manga they do so hidden in bushes.
  • The anime adds a scene of Tokiyuki being scared by hearing others talk about his fetishes.
  • In the anime, when Tokiyuki yells why Yorishige didn't tell him to go to the mountain for water, the mountain is seen in the background, while in the manga, Tokiyuki and Yorishige are seen talking normally.
  • The anime omits the memories Tokiyuki has while talking about how Yorishige's powers must be fake.
  • When the narrator talks about how the Kamakura era was the last in which humans existed with the mysteries, in the manga, an image of a tengu is seen, however in the anime only the shadow of a tengu is seen.
  • In the anime, the Buddha image that Takauji draws is superimposed on Mount Moriya.
  • The anime adds scenes of Tadayoshi working at the imperial court before being called by Takauji.
  • The anime adds two people talking to Tadayoshi before Takauji finds him.
  • In the manga, Takauji and Tadayoshi talk about their plans while walking to Takauji's room, however in the anime they both sit there talking about their plans.
  • In Tadayoshi's flashback, the anime adds Moronao and Moroyasu as children while Tadayoshi creates the treasure map.
  • In the manga, Tadayoshi enters Takauji's room to talk about the Buddha, telling him that he wants to buy it while inside the room. However, in the anime, due to the evil aura of the place, Tadayoshi decides not to enter and talks about the Buddha from the door of the room.
  • In the anime, Tadayoshi calls two retainers to burn the rest of the painting, in the manga he only calls one.
  • During the explanation that Yorishige gives Tokiyuki about divine powers, the anime adds and changes several scenes, such as when he tells Tokiyuki that if the world were more populated and people could have more eyes, in the manga you see several cameras and Tokiyuki hidden with a hood, however in the anime Tokiyuki dresses in his traditional way while he is in Shibuya, like the scenes of the bandits where a hand is shown chasing the bandits away while they are hidden in cardboard bushes.
  • After explaining his divine powers to Tokiyuki, he and Yorishige begin to play with snowballs while in the manga they both skate on ice.
  • While in the manga, Yorishige decides to be seen with the doll that Tokiyuki made to pass himself off as a fetishist in front of others, in the anime, Yorishige is shown being beaten by the doll.
